With her product, “Mee Siti” (pic), she has now managed to open up a factory with three workers. The factory is under the Program Kampung Sejahtera (PKS) of the Rural Development Ministry.
According to her, the demand for her Mee Siti was high but due to lack of machines she was not able to meet it.
At the moment, the factory only has five noodle-processing machines, which are able to produce between 200 and 300 packages daily and up to 8,000 packages a month. Apart from noodle, Noraidah also produces snacks, which also receive high demand from the public.
“This is an example of a successful Bumiputera,” said Membakut Assemblyman, Datuk Mohd Ariffin Mohd Arif when launching her factory in Kampung Lumat.
Ariffin also urged others to emulate Noraidah’s effort to venture into food production so that more local products could be commercialised at a broader market.
